He isn't quite aware of exactly how desperate things are for his smaller self, when it comes to needing to go home and why. Of course getting back to Rem was important, because she was ALIVE and the constant ridiculous thought that if he could find his brother and bring him to Rem it would miraculously fix everything kept popping up, but it's not the same urgecy as having multiple family members missing into a city that keeps blinking out of existence.

Satisfied with what he's acquired, half of which looks suspiciously like hunting tools, he wiggles back out and stuffs them in the ousted pack.
