The way he speaks and the face he makes reminds her so much of her littlest brothers that Tessla is shocked further out of her terror and just looks at him with both confusion and suspicion... but less fear.

She listens to him as he explains what an orphanage is, and it's hard for her to understand some of it. "I live with sharp brother and we don't have parents. Is he an orphanage?" Knives isn't exactly a place, but he's home to her.

"Why wouldn't a parent want to take care of their child? Is it a human thing?"
