in the time it takes to blink, the familiar greenery aboard the ship is gone and replaced by the uncaring heat of desert and rock. the tree he had been seated under was now replaced by a broken wall that cast a measly shadow over him. nai stares ahead, reality slowly sinking in as his grip on the book tightens more and more.
his head jerks up when he hears a familiar voice calling out in the distance. heart pounding, nai rushes to stand with the book tucked to his chest and heads in the direction he heard the voice coming from. if it's who he thinks it is...
nai doesn't call back out, not until he can see who the voice belongs to first. instead, he scurries around the building and the rubble that littered the surrounding area, only stopping short when he catches sight of a very familiar red coat running away from the building. ]
